There are many ways - formal and informal - to support parents in your community. Sometimes support is about just being there for a friendly chat, or you may want to organise an event for families. In this section we look at the different ways we can support each other.

Involving your audience

Community action of any kind needs an audience. Some audiences - like fathers or teen parents - may prefer a different approach than a more general family event. Collaborating with existing groups or organisations in your community, such as churches or workplaces, can help you to reach and engage with parents.

Organising community action

Action in your community might be an event, such as a family funday or a workshop, or it might be dropping off pamphlets to places where families gather, like public swimming pools and libraries.
